What is open enrollment?

Open enrollment is the yearly window when anyone can sign up for or change an individual or family health plan. For most states it runs from November 1 into January. Some states run their own marketplaces with different dates. Michael can tell you the dates that apply to you.

What if I missed open enrollment?

You may qualify for a special enrollment period. Certain life events open a window, usually 60 days, to enroll outside the yearly dates. Some private and supplemental plans are also available year round.

What counts as a qualifying life event?

Common ones are losing other coverage (a job change, or aging off a parent's plan), getting married or divorced, having or adopting a child, moving to a new area, and changes in income that affect what you qualify for.

Can I enroll in anything right now?

Often, yes. Michael enrolls clients 365 days a year: some plans are open all year, and a qualifying life event opens a special enrollment period. He can go over which options are open to you today.

How does Michael help with enrollment?

Michael shops the options for you, explains the differences in plain terms and completes the application with you. He stays your point of contact after you enroll.
